‘Before you die from terminal dehydration, you will lapse into unconsciousness. Legally anyone has the right to refuse food and water. However, if a person loses the ability to make decisions, there are people who are responsible to take over in the decision-making process. If you take the exit, you’d better find a room of your own where you can lie down without interruption.’ Ellen Yeon Kim
Aftercare is a group exhibition bringing together nine international artists working within the topics of contemporary ways of living and consumerism standard. Inspired by model homes, Aftercare aims to emulate an idealized domestic interior. Standing beside IKEA standardized life style and manufactured zen attitude, selected works re-enact the envi- ronment of a living quarter, stimulating tensions between the livable and non-livable. An habitacle for a XXIe century assisted suicide.
