unique silkscreen prints on Somerset paper
Brawl is a group of 18 unique silkscreen prints. It uses the language of unarmed combat to score a fight for ten people devoid of context or setting. Every action is printed where an impact is received. Ten fonts are used to make distinctions between those delivering action.
4 glass mosaic panels
Pool is a series of A2, flat-shaped mosaic panels derived from swimming pool designs. The work uses traditional mosaic composition developed to accommodate large areas. Pool collapses onto a single reflective plane the surface of water with the bottom of a pool. Shades of white and black smalti tesserae reflect the colourless and adaptive qualities of water.
Kerbel is currently exhibiting at Beautiful world, where are you?, as part of the Liverpool Biennial. Sink, her live performance of a synchronised swimming routine for 24 women, was commissioned by The Common Guildand presented at Glasgow Western Baths Club on the 3rd of August 2018.
