Foundwork, a new artist platform for the contemporary art community, announces the first annual Foundwork Artist Prize, an unrestricted $10,000 juried grant. In addition to this financial support, the winner will receive a studio visit with each of the five jurors, all experienced practitioners and members of Foundwork’s advisory board. To be considered, artists must create a profile on Foundwork by September 1, 2019.
For those who aren’t yet familiar, Foundwork is a platform designed to help connect artists and collaborators across the art industry. It’s a focused venue for artists to introduce their work to a global art audience, where curators, gallerists, and other collaborators can research and engage with practicing artists wherever they’re located. Foundwork is a Brooklyn-based company run by a former gallerist. Its advisors and community include curators, gallerists, art fair and residency directors, professors, and artists.
The 2019 Foundwork Artist Prize will be limited to US residents due to foreign regulations. However, Foundwork is a global platform and is proud to feature a growing community of artists based in over thirty countries. Foundwork artist memberships are $4 per month but are free for students at graduate or undergraduate art schools. Artists can join any time and should see the FAQ and Official Rules on Foundwork for more information. If you have any questions, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
