2021 Foundwork Artist Prize: International Open Call
Foundwork is pleased to announce the open call for the 2021 Foundwork Artist Prize, an annual juried award to recognize outstanding practices by contemporary artists. This year, two honorees will receive unrestricted $10,000 grants and studio visits with the distinguished jurors. The honorees and three shortlisted artists will also be interviewed in the Foundwork Dialogues program to further public engagement with their work.
The 2021 jury includes leading curators, gallerists, educators, and artists: Vanessa Carlos (founder, Carlos/Ishikawa, London, founder, CONDO); Qu Chang (curator and writer, Hong Kong and Shenzhen, former curator, Para Site, Hong Kong); Bridget Donahue (owner, Bridget Donahue, New York); Cédric Fauq (curator, Palais de Tokyo, Paris, incoming chief curator, CAPC Musée, Bordeaux); Thomas Lawson (artist, dean, School of Art, CalArts, editor-in-chief, East of Borneo); Thiago de Paula Souza (co-curator, 3rd Frestas Triennial of Arts, Sorocaba, Brazil, curatorial team, 10th Berlin Biennale).
The deadline to register is October 10 and artists working in any media are eligible. The prize is open to artists worldwide with limited exceptions. Visit foundwork.art/artist-prize for more information.
